About Georgia Addiction Treatment Center: Our Mission

What is it about Georgia Addiction Treatment Center that makes us different from other facilities in the area? Our mission involves offering a patient-centered approach, tailoring our treatment to your needs. This philosophy is the basis for everything we do at Georgia Addiction Treatment Center, including our many levels of care. It is why we have become one of the most successful addiction treatment centers in the South.

But what do we mean when we say that we “treat the whole patient?” One of the main ways that we do this is through our dual-diagnosis program. The philosophy of dual diagnosis — which we sometimes call “co-occurring disorder” — is that we do more than treat your specific addiction. In dual-diagnosis, we also address the underlying mental issues that underpin and fuel your addiction. This means managing your depression, anxiety, PTSD, and anything other psychological issues simultaneously with treating your addiction.

Treating the addiction without treating what is helping to fuel it makes relapse all the more likely. Our patient-centered dual-diagnostic approach helps us to ensure that you will not relapse as you continue your recovery. This concept is one of the most important things about Georgia Addiction Treatment Center and sits at the heart of all of our programs.

The Levels of Care at Georgia Addiction Treatment Center

Any quality addiction treatment center will off more than one level of care. As you learn more about Georgia Addiction Treatment Center, you will discover that we offer a comprehensive suite of outpatient programs. Each of these levels addresses a different level of severity of the addiction. Ideally, they work together in a sequence. We offer the following levels:

  • Partial Hospitalization Program: The PHP is usually either the first or second step in recovery after inpatient treatment and medical detoxification. In our PHP, you will spend all day in treatment at our facility, and will only return to your home or residence to sleep.

  • Intensive Outpatient Program: In our IOP, you spend more time at home that you do in PHP. This allows you to begin putting into practice the life skills and strategies that you have been working on with your counselors.

  • Outpatient Program: In the OP, you can come and go as you please, and as you rejoin the workforce, school, and family life, your treatment depends upon your schedule. Our counselors and group meetings will naturally continue to provide support.

  • Community Housing: For some patients, the healthiest option is to live in a sober living situation with other individuals in recovery. Throughout your treatment, sober community housing will be an option. Community housing can be an essential component of our comprehensive aftercare program.

As you learn more about us, you will also find that we offer multiple levels of therapy and counseling, including cognitive-behavioral therapy. If you are considering an addiction treatment center, you must make sure that they provide all of these levels. It is the best way to make sure your treatment is tailored to your needs.
